Thanks to our friends in Germany for this story. “My name is Christiane Göldner and I was a young, fun-loving and daring woman before I tumbled 4 meters down. I loved activities in my life …studying, jogging, dancing and traveling. My climbing accident was caused because one carabiner opened up instead of closing down. As a result I received an upsetting diagnose: From that moment on I was considered as a paraplegic person, paralyzed from T10 down.
Since that day my life changing process started - the correlation between my body, mind, life and death entirely changed.
Many daily barriers let me realize my weakness. But since I have started my physiotherapy and my training with the RehaMove FES system, I feel stronger again - stronger to tackle those barriers. I began to work with the RehaMove in 2008 and train three times per week, just for one hour, and I am amazed by the results.
The FES therapy gives me a good body feeling and helps my muscles to remember how to move. The repetitive active movement by means of this particular stimulation reduces my spasticity. After having trained over a long period of time I kind of noticed that I suddenly gained muscle strength. Today I can easily cycle by myself in the for about 30 minutes
I like to exercise with the RehaMove. Everybody should benefit from such an innovative therapy. For all people that suffer from muscle atrophy, spinal cord injury etc. this therapy is necessary and absolutely worthwhile. I am thankful for the opportunity to be part again of society – all it takes is a “head start”
